Risk disclaimer

Please read this before acting on anything you learn here. Trading leveraged products is genuinely risky, and we would rather be blunt about it than lose your trust later.

You can lose money, and most beginners do

Forex and CFDs are leveraged products. Leverage magnifies losses exactly as much as it magnifies gains, which means you can lose money faster than you expect, and you can lose your entire deposit.

Brokers regulated in the EU and the UK are required to publish the percentage of their retail clients who lose money. That figure is typically somewhere between 65 and 85 percent. Assume you are more likely to be in that group than not, especially in your first year.

Never trade with money you need for rent, food, debt payments, or anything else in your life. Only ever risk money whose complete loss would not change your circumstances.

This is education, not financial advice

The Trading Classroom publishes general educational content. Nothing on this site is personal financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any instrument.

We do not know your income, your debts, your tax situation, your experience or your goals, so we cannot possibly tell you what is suitable for you. We are not licensed or authorised to give financial advice in any jurisdiction, and we do not do so.

If you want advice tailored to your own situation, speak to a professional who is licensed to give it in your country.

No performance promises

We do not promise, project, or imply any level of profit. We do not publish account screenshots, win rates or performance claims as proof of anything.

Any figures used in lessons are illustrative examples chosen to explain a calculation. They are not predictions and they are not typical results.

Accuracy and mistakes

We check every calculation before publishing, and we date our lessons. Even so, market conditions, broker terms, spreads, and regulations change, and mistakes happen.

Always verify current specifications, costs and rules with your own broker before you place a trade. If you spot an error on this site, please tell us and we will correct it.

Rules differ where you live

Retail leverage limits, product availability and consumer protections vary significantly by country. Maximum retail leverage on major currency pairs is capped at 1:30 in the EU and the UK and at 1:50 in the United States, while some other jurisdictions allow far more.

CFDs are not available to retail traders in every country, including the United States. It is your responsibility to check what is legal and available where you live.
